Here are some pictures from Don's Bronze Star ceremony. He received this special honor for his service in Afghanistan 2008. This award is given to soldiers who go above and beyond in combat. Yes, I can say soldier because he was deployed as part of an Army unit even though he is in the Air Force. Don saw combat more times than I like to admit and much more than any of us ever saw in the news. Please remember all our men and women protecting our freedom 24 hours a day seven days a week, 365 days a year. These brave soldiers don't get time off, holidays or sick days so please keep them in your prayers and remember freedom isn't free.
